Hey friend, I’m so glad you’re here. Thank you for choosing to have these words delivered to your mailbox. I pray you’ll find encouragement in this space, a vulnerability you can connect with and comfort for your daily journey. I love the home and believe deep in my soul that the walls of a house can inhabit something sacred.
Before we get too deep, allow me to introduce myself if you’re a first-time visitor in this space. I overthink these “about me” pages, so I am going to go with what comes to mind first… My name is Emily Beth. I am in my early 30’s, live in Northwest Montana with the cutest guy I get to call “husband”, with our 2 kitties, 1 pup, and a growing flock of chickens. I work remotely full time in a corporate job that helps pay the bills, but in my off time you can find me — redecorating, preserving, making sourdough, dreaming up new things to plant in the garden, baking, cooking, drinking iced lattes or writing. I find an immense amount of joy in “keeping our home” and being a homemaker. All I ever wanted to be as a young girl was a wife, mom, and homemaker. Children aren’t in the picture yet, but maybe someday.
My husband and I are both from the south originally, but each of us have our own stories about how God led us to Montana. While we joke often about moving back south, God clearly has us here for a reason and we plan to enjoy every season we get to live in the Pacific Northwest. This is a special place and we’re grateful to call Montana home.
I have been writing and sharing about the home since my college days when I would post pictures of our dorm room on Facebook. The essence of all things home is simply in my soul. Creating a safe space away from the unsafety of the world is a gift — one I love giving to my husband and all who enter our modest rented mobile home. What I write about here may vary in topics, but my prayer is that you leave this space challenged when you need to be and encouraged in your own desire to make your house a home.
